Björk’s blockchain-based music project breathes life into a dying industry


As Björk prepares for the release of her upcoming 10th major label release — over 40 years — she’s turning to the technology of the future. She’ll be integrating blockchain into her new album, in a partnership with British startup Blockpool. Dubbed “Utopia,” fans will be able to purchase the album using cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, among others. And because it’s the future, those who pre-order from the official site will receive crypto rewards in the form of “Audio Coins.” These Audio Coins will allow users to purchase things like limited edition albums.
